Description
Commissioner R, alternatively known as Judge R or Ultio R, originated as a demigod created through The King's (Okhwang) immortality experiments. His human mother fused with Greed during pregnancy, resulting in his birth as the Original Greed. To ensure his survival after birth, she implored him to consume her body, catalyzing his transformation into human form. Deemed a failure by The King, he was discarded but escaped. Persecuted by humans seeking his immortality-granting bones, he was rescued by Park Mubong, earning R's enduring gratitude.
R maintains a calm, collected demeanor yet harbors profound pride and irritation when bested, exemplified by Jin Mori breaking his arm during their initial encounter. His personality is marked by cunning deception; he strategically manipulated both Park Mubong and the organization Nox to advance his objectives. While appearing obedient to authority to build trust, his core motivations stem from hatred toward his father, The King, and deep resentment toward humanity for past suffering. He specifically blames humans for the death of the only woman who showed him kindness. Despite this animosity, he expresses genuine thankfulness toward Mubong, sparing him as repayment for the earlier rescue. He also displays unexpected fondness for Mori's clone, Hui Mo-Ri, contrasting sharply with his hatred for Jin Mori himself.
R's abilities underwent significant evolution:
* Initially, he wielded unnamed wind-based charyeok, enabling aerokinesis, cyclone generation, and wind-arrow attacks.
* As the Original Greed, he gained power absorption (draining life energy and abilities, notably from The King), soul manipulation (consuming and summoning gods), potent regeneration, and resistance to divine powers like The King's third eye. Greed also granted body control, conceptual manipulation, and global nullification of the Taboo restricting humans.
* After absorbing The King's physical power and "Body," he attained Fundamental Force Manipulation, though with less precision than The King or Han Daewi. His power tiers escalated from Island level to Multi-Galaxy level post-Ragnarök, with speed reaching Massively FTL+ levels. Key weapons included the Blade of Tathagata (capable of planetary-scale cuts) and the Cane of the Sage.
R recruited Jin Mori for the God of High School tournament, easily defeating him to ensure participation. As a Judge, he clashed with fellow Commissioner Q, revealing his competitive pride. He later defected to Nox as a double agent, rising to Bishop rank while secretly plotting against both Nox and Mubong. His ultimate plan involved triggering Ragnarök to lure gods to Earth, absorbing them via Greed to destroy the Taboo and grant humanity freedom—a goal causing catastrophic human casualties. Baek Seungchul noted R operated on "the end justifying the means."
He betrayed all factions to enact vengeance against The King, absorbing his power and the souls of deceased gods during Ragnarök. In his final battle, he faced Supreme God Mori Jin, demonstrating galaxy-level durability before ultimately falling. His last words thanked Mubong and referenced their promise, underscoring his complex loyalty amidst destructive actions.
R's legacy lies in his paradoxical impact: destroying divine and human lives to achieve liberation from the gods, yet enabling true freedom for humanity by breaking the Taboo. His actions fundamentally reshaped the universe's balance of power.
