To ensure his survival after birth, she implored him to consume her body, catalyzing his transformation into human form. Deemed a failure by The King, he was discarded but escaped. Persecuted by humans seeking his immortality-granting bones, he was rescued by Park Mubong, earning R's enduring gratitude.

R maintains a calm, collected demeanor yet harbors profound pride and irritation when bested, exemplified by Jin Mori breaking his arm during their initial encounter. His personality is marked by cunning deception; he strategically manipulated both Park Mubong and the organization Nox to advance his objectives. While appearing obedient to authority to build trust, his core motivations stem from hatred toward his father, The King, and deep resentment toward humanity for past suffering. He specifically blames humans for the death of the only woman who showed him kindness. Despite this animosity, he expresses genuine thankfulness toward Mubong, sparing him as repayment for the earlier rescue. He also displays unexpected fondness for Mori's clone, Hui Mo-Ri, contrasting sharply with his hatred for Jin Mori himself.
