Description
Marcelino, abandoned as a newborn on a Franciscan monastery’s doorstep, is raised by the monks. He blossoms into a cheerful, mischievous child blessed with the extraordinary ability to converse with animals, forging deep bonds with the natural world—trees, plants, and creatures alike. His insatiable curiosity spurs explorations and unconventional questions, met with patient guidance from the friars.

A transformative moment unfolds when he discovers a crucifix in the monastery attic and begins secretly offering bread and wine to the figure each day. On his sixth birthday, driven by longing, he voices a wish to reunite with his late mother in Heaven, unaware this selfless desire triggers his mortal departure. Though this concludes his initial journey, it heralds a new chapter rather than an end.

Resurrected by his mother, he is entrusted with guiding animals and mending conflicts between humans and nature. Embarking on continued adventures, he wields his bond with the environment and sharp ingenuity to shield both realms from harm. His role as a mediator bridges tensions between human societies and wild ecosystems, underscoring themes of compassion and stewardship.

Retaining an innocent yet resolute spirit, he remains propelled by a yearning to unravel his origins and fulfill his purpose. His tale weaves magical realism with themes of sacrifice, resurrection, and the dance between spiritual and earthly realms. Cycling through life, death, and rebirth, his journey is anchored by enduring ties to the monastery’s friars, animal allies, and celestial beings.
