Description
Riku emerged from the fractured left horn of the demon lord Kirinmaru, shattered during a clash with Tōga, the Great Dog Demon. Crafted six centuries ago and nurtured by Kirinmaru’s sister Zero, he served as her steadfast retainer. Charged with delivering life-saving herbs to Tōga after his duel with Ryūkotsusei, Riku arrived moments too late, discovering the fallen warrior’s corpse. This lapse drove Zero to invoke the Shikon Jewel’s power, birthing seven Rainbow Pearls that imprisoned her sorrow.

Once detached and rigidly literal, Riku transformed over two centuries into a cunning strategist cloaked in refinement. He embraced piracy under a self-imposed creed to spare the vulnerable, later bankrolling Jyūbei’s demon-slaying enterprise. His signature azure earring functioned as a versatile weapon, enabling teleportation, matter transmutation, and conjured gold for allies or lethal force against foes.

Charismatic yet merciless, Riku masks ulterior motives behind polished courtesy. He maneuvers both the Four Perils and half-demon heroes like pieces on a board, espousing a warped belief that love’s purity demands the beloved’s destruction. Paradoxically, he forms authentic bonds with Sesshōmaru’s daughter Towa, shielding her at personal cost and defying Kirinmaru—a stark departure from centuries of fealty that hints at clashing loyalties.

His pursuit of Rainbow Pearls begins as service to Zero but drifts toward cryptic personal ends. Securing five pearls, he hunts the final pair under ambiguous pretenses, asserting autonomy after severing ties to Kirinmaru. Though suspected of advancing Kirinmaru’s prophesied "Degenerate Age," his true aims stay veiled, intertwining self-interest with guarded acts of guardianship toward Towa and her sister Setsuna.

Human-like in form with fiery auburn hair and emerald eyes, Riku’s evolving attire complements his azure earring. A combat virtuoso, he wields blade and elemental magic with equal precision, freezing water to aid Towa or resurrecting post-fatal injuries—a testament to his demonic heritage.

Once a passive instrument, Riku now navigates shadowy ambitions. His bond with Towa oscillates between genuine care and tactical exploitation, blurring lines between ally and adversary. The unanswered purpose behind his pearl quest and latent ties to apocalyptic prophecies sustain an aura of mystery, leaving his final role suspended between salvation and ruin.
