Neo Kashima attends Chihaya First High School as a second-year student and dreams of becoming a food journalist. She works part-time at Cubic Cafe alongside Shougo Kagaya. Neo is the older sister of Mifu Kashima, who uses a wheelchair and has a cheerful personality with a love for flowers; Neo shows devoted care for her sister.

In the OVA *Memories Off 3.5: Omoide no Kanata e*, Neo is Shougo Kagaya's current girlfriend. Their relationship becomes strained when Shougo's former girlfriend, Kanata Kurosu, reappears. Neo feels anxiety and insecurity, fearing Shougo might choose Kanata. This worry intensifies after Tanaka, the manager of Cubic Cafe, dies in an accident while with Kanata. Despite encouragement from Tifu Kashima to fight for her relationship, Neo's concerns remain. Yue Imasaka also provides indirect advice by counseling Shougo. The conflict resolves when Shougo affirms his commitment to Neo during Christmas, leading to Kanata's departure for America.

Neo also appears in the original visual novel *Omoide ni Kawaru Kimi: Memories Off*, maintaining her core characteristics and aspirations. She is featured in the spin-off game *Memories Off Mix*, which includes characters from multiple series titles.
