Description
Togo Arai attends Seiryu High School, an all-boys boarding institution, studying alongside his friends Nakamoto, Shimura, Kato, and Takagi. He shares a dormitory room with Nakamoto. Arai embodies a rebellious, defiant personality, frequently engaging in fights and displaying a short temper—particularly when facing perceived challenges to his autonomy. His ownership and use of a motorcycle reinforce his nonconformist, independent identity.

Arai demonstrates loyalty within his friend circle but maintains a competitive dynamic with Takagi, noting their rare agreements. Tension defines his relationship with Mikimaro Shimura; Mikimaro harbors overt romantic interest in Arai, who dismissively treats him as a child despite Mikimaro’s older age. This dynamic intensifies when Mizuho Kusanagi, the student council president, manipulates the group into performing "Little Women" for the school’s cultural festival, requiring women’s clothing. Cast as the rebellious Jo March, Arai initially resists participation but gradually engages, revealing reluctant cooperation under pressure.

Preparations resurface Arai’s prior connection to Kasumi Mikage Kouji, Kusanagi’s vice-captain and former roommate, sparking Mikimaro’s jealousy. Rehearsals and the performance spotlight Arai’s interactions—his protective yet dismissive attitude toward Mikimaro and competitive friction with Takagi.

In the unrelated OVA *Kekkon~Marriage~*, an alternate version named Arai Kiyomi appears as Takagi’s girlfriend; they temporarily break up, leading Kiyomi to date Shimura Mikimaro. This incarnation shares no narrative continuity with Togo Arai in *Oretachi no Carnival*.

Arai’s core narrative revolves around his forced involvement in the cross-dressing play, his group relationships, and his defiant persona juxtaposed with underlying loyalty.
