Captain Blue originated as an acclaimed movie director with numerous award nominations, though his cinematic legacy faded over time. Determined to forge an enduring hero, he entered one of his own films and transformed into the superhero Captain Blue. Initially championing justice, he gradually corrupted as "seeds of evil" took root, erasing memories of his family.
After a shadowy adversary defeated him and abducted Silvia—girlfriend of his devoted fan Joe—he mentored Joe, gifting him a V-Watch to become a hero. Guiding Joe through Movieland, he taught VFX combat techniques: slowing time, accelerating action, and zooming for amplified strikes. He instilled the creed that true heroism demands perseverance through failure.
His corruption culminated in founding the Jadow syndicate under the alias King Blue (or Almighty Leader), plotting to escape Movieland and dominate reality. As Jadow’s shadow commander, he engineered conflicts confronting Joe and Silvia. In their final battle, he exposed two pivotal truths: his leadership of Jadow and his familial bond to Silvia as her father.
Defeated by Joe, Captain Blue renounced villainy. He endorsed Joe as his successor and forewarned of looming threats to Earth, implying future sequels. Reinstated as Movieland’s director, he equipped Silvia with her own V-Watch, enabling her heroism alongside Joe.
Anime-exclusive arcs revealed he mentored Captain Blue Jr.—a jealous youth guarding Blue Town and coveting a V-Watch. Junior received V-Yo-Yos instead. Later, during Season 2, the Black Emperor mutated Captain Blue into the "Captain Blue Device," a monster-generating tool for GEDOW, and scarred his face.
