Description
Hailing from an aristocratic Austrian dynasty with considerable wealth, Karl Richter von Randoll initially excelled in diverse sports before joining Cyber Formula racing. His entry into the sport followed a public confrontation with Asuka Sugo, who challenged his dismissive remarks about racing. This sparked his infatuation with Asuka and ignited a fierce rivalry with Hayato Kazami over both her affections and track dominance.

Dubbed the "Amadeus of the Circuit" or "Genius," Karl debuted prominently in 2015 for Union Savior, winning his first race against veteran Naoki Shinjyo to emerge as a championship contender. Early on, his entitled demeanor centered solely on pursuing Asuka and defeating Hayato. Their rivalry escalated to a high-stakes wager where Asuka promised a kiss to the winner of a race. Hayato’s victory resulted in Karl crashing into the sea.

Karl persisted through subsequent seasons. After a strong 2016 start yielded a fourth-place championship finish, a catastrophic collision with Hayato at the 2017 British Grand Prix left him facially scarred. Combined with parental disapproval, this forced his temporary retirement.

Determined to race again, Karl covertly used family funds to purchase Union Savior. He returned in 2018 under the alias "Prinz Rosencreuz," concealing his identity with a Knight Schumacher-inspired mask. Though unmasked at the season finale, he secured reluctant parental consent to continue. Henceforth, he operated as both owner and driver for the team.

As an owner-driver, his approach transformed. He engineered cutting-edge car modifications, adapting rivals' technologies like Sturozech Project’s rolling cockpit (adjusted to his preferences), the linear wheel, and Sugo’s six-wheel drive—while supplying engines to Sugo in exchange. He retained eccentric habits, including mid-race tea breaks.

For the 2020 season, Karl recruited IndyCar returnee Naoki Shinjyo as teammate. When Shinjyo rejoined Aoi ZIP Formula in 2023, Karl replaced him with female driver Sera Gellagher. Though his direct rivalry with Hayato waned over time, Karl remained a perennial championship contender, evolving from a privileged antagonist to a committed team leader focused on technical innovation and management.
