Osamu Sugo, alias Knight Schumacher, is the son of Sugo Corporation president Kojiro Sugo and older brother of Asuka Sugo. Born on August 9, he stands 182 cm tall with blood type B. His racing career started in Formula One for Missing Link before shifting to Cyber Formula, where he adopted the Schumacher identity to mask his lineage. He debuted in the 2015 season with Union Savior, seizing victory at the opening U.S. Grand Prix and claiming second place in Peru, positioning himself as a title contender. An injury between the third and fourth rounds forced his temporary withdrawal.
In 2016, recognizing his deteriorating optic nerve limited his racing future, he returned mid-season under the Schumacher alias during the British Grand Prix to mentor Hayato Kazami on professional racing’s demands. Despite joining late, he won four races and challenged for the championship. His final race in Japan saw him drive the closing segments with his eyes closed, relying entirely on his cyber system’s audio guidance amid near-blindness, marking his retirement.
Post-retirement, he became manager of Team Sugo (later renamed Sugo Grand Prix and Sugo GIO Grand Prix) in 2017. Medical advancements later restored much of his vision.
