Description
Hina Satou is a young girl with fair skin, long pink hair featuring bangs and side strands, and pale blue eyes. She typically wears a church habit: a white veil with a navy blue wimple, a blue-bordered white vest scarf tied with a yellow ribbon, a large brown belt, and brown boots.

Her background is marked by tragedy and survival. Her mother, Mina Sato, a retired US Army lieutenant, returned to Japan. Hina's father, Renald Young, died in a car accident while driving to the hospital for her birth in October 2021. Learning of Russian troop movements toward Ukraine in February 2022, Mina sold possessions to buy a yacht and survival supplies. She armed herself and relocated to a remote Pacific island, establishing a homestead. Mina gave birth to Hina there and undertook extensive preparations for nuclear winter following World War III, including hunting wild dogs, farming, livestock breeding, and flood-proofing structures. After nuclear exchanges devastated major populations, Mina raised Hina in isolation, educating her in languages and mathematics from infancy despite the harsh environment.

Hina later developed "Logos Syndrome," a rare hereditary neurodegenerative disease causing physical deterioration. Her grandfather, a researcher, developed a quantum neural control interface (a chip-sized supercomputer) implanted in her head. This device compensated for her neurological deficits and granted predictive capabilities resembling omniscience, such as foreseeing horse race outcomes, weather changes, and specific future events. These abilities led her to believe she was a deity named "Odin," a name she prefers due to dissatisfaction with her common surname and noticing others' names often relate to divine figures.

Her personality combines her proclaimed divinity with mischievous tendencies. She announces the world's impending end within 30 days and seeks companionship with high school student Yōta Narukami for her remaining time. Despite claiming gods require no sustenance, she demonstrates enjoyment of food and video games. She uses her predictive powers to assist Yōta in various endeavors, including pursuing his romantic interest in Kyōko Izanami, revitalizing a failing ramen shop, and winning a mahjong tournament.

Over time, her origins are revealed: she was abandoned by her biological parents due to her condition before her adoptive grandfather intervened with the implant. Her residence with the Narukami family stems from their agreement to care for her, facilitated by her grandfather's connection as their advisor. A clandestine organization deems her implant technologically dangerous and authorizes its removal. She is captured during a film project and undergoes surgery to extract the device.

Following the surgery, she regresses to a childlike mental state, losing her predictive abilities and memories of her experiences as "Odin." She resides in an assisted care facility until Yōta locates her. Through persistent interaction, subtle indications emerge that fragments of her memories with Yōta remain. After reuniting with the Narukami family, she watches the completed film project and receives Yōta's commitment to support her regardless of future challenges.

Her name "Hina" can be written with kanji for "sun/light" and "vegetables/greens," while "Satō" combines characters for "help/aid" and "wisteria."
