Hailing from a prominent family, Mell was raised with serious and unobtrusive mannerisms, cultivating a notably shy personality. Her love of poems led her to study literature at Sorbonne University. However, she left her studies after encountering Ci Caprice, who had sneaked into the university. This meeting prompted Mell to join Le Chattes Noires, where she and Ci became roommates and close partners. Their names together form a play on the French word "Merci," meaning "thank you."
Within the Paris Combat Revue, Mell serves as one of Isabel Lilac's secretaries and maids. She operates in the Support Division, managing battle information and providing support for the frontline Fleur Division. Concurrently, Mell works as an accountant and showgirl at Le Chattes Noires, overseeing its gift shop and stage operations alongside Ci Caprice.
In the OVA Sakura Taisen: Le Nouveau Paris, occurring after Ichiro Ogami's departure from Paris, Mell and Ci Caprice undertake espionage missions. During the episode "Mell-Ci-Spy," Erica Fontaine equips Mell with the "Gabriel" submachine gun for combat against adversaries, shifting her from her usual support capacity.
