Retklaad Dithersmount held the position of Overseer in Fedovar. He supervised the test flight of the Ovaconia spacecraft, carrying Tonodono Plenmatz, ruler of Fedovar, along with his wife and their son, Ion. During the flight, the spacecraft malfunctioned and crashed, resulting in the apparent deaths of all aboard. Following this event, multiple individuals linked to the spacecraft or the Plenmatz family perished under suspicious circumstances, including suicides and fatal accidents.

Retklaad was subsequently implicated in a conspiracy to assassinate the Plenmatz family. This accusation surfaced after Gold, a central figure investigating the incident, publicly claimed possession of evidence proving Retklaad's involvement. Despite possessing undisclosed knowledge about the conspiracy, the other Overseers reluctantly convened a trial to address the allegations against him. The trial unfolded in a formal, protracted manner within a setting resembling a Roman Colosseum.
