OVA
Description
Marg entered the world as the twin brother of Mars (later Takeru) on the planet Gishin. Emperor Zuul orchestrated their parents' deaths and abducted Mars in infancy, leaving Marg orphaned. This profound loss drove Marg to join Ura's guerrilla resistance against Zuul's tyranny. Within the resistance, he formed a romantic bond with Ura's daughter, Ruru. Zuul's forces eventually crushed the guerrillas, resulting in Marg's capture.

Subjected to intensive brainwashing by Zuul, Marg's memories were erased, transforming him into a loyal Gishin Empire military officer. Under Zuul's command, he led invasions against Earth, tasked with eliminating his defiant brother, Takeru. Gishin officer Rose acted as his handler, constantly monitoring and psychologically manipulating him. Despite the conditioning, fragments of Marg's true self occasionally surfaced, manifesting as telepathic warnings to Takeru about imminent threats. These acts betrayed his underlying loyalty to his brother but led to discovery and further mental conditioning by Gishin authorities.

Marg's journey culminated in a tragic confrontation with Takeru. During a critical battle, his memories returned just as he physically interposed himself to shield Takeru's mecha, God Mars, from an attack, resulting in his death. After death, Zuul tormented Marg's spirit within a controlled afterlife dimension. Seeking to aid his brother from beyond, Marg's spirit later returned, merging with Rose. This fusion empowered her, allowing Marg's consciousness to manifest as the spectral protector, the Rose Knight. In this form, he provided crucial assistance to Takeru during later conflicts, especially when Takeru was weakened by life-draining devices.

The OVA *God Mars: The Untold Legend* presents an alternate perspective on Marg's early life, detailing his experiences post-orphaning: recruitment into the guerrilla movement, his deepening relationship with Ruru, the destruction of their resistance cell, and his subsequent capture and brainwashing by Zuul. This narrative concludes at the point corresponding to episode 19 of the original television series, prior to his final confrontation with Takeru.
