Description
Chizuru Edojō is the mother of protagonist Honmaru Edojō and the wife of Shogunnosuke Edojō, having married him at a young age. Within the Edojō household, she embodies kindness and friendliness. Her nurturing nature emerges when discovering Taruruto in Honmaru's room; he reminds her of Honmaru as a young child, leading her to embrace Taruruto into their home. This maternal instinct provides comfort, as Taruruto occasionally seeks solace by suckling at her breast, a behavior tied to his early childhood associations.

Her role becomes pivotal in the first film adaptation when she falls critically ill with an unexplained high fever. The sole cure is the Fruit of Life, a rare magical artifact bearing fruit only once every million years within the magical realm. This illness directly propels the film's plot, compelling Honmaru and Taruruto to undertake a quest to retrieve the fruit and save her life.
