Peasuke Soramame is Taro Soramame's younger brother and attends Penguin Village Middle School alongside classmates Arale Norimaki and Akane Kimidori. He consistently appears short in stature, a trait that persists into adulthood and causes him significant insecurity. He habitually wears an animal-themed hat, criticized by Taro for cramping his style; this hat remains gray in the 1997 remake adaptation.
Personality-wise, he is characterized as timid, wimpy, and sensitive, often displaying reasonable judgment within his friend group. He deeply admires Taro and aspires to emulate him when older. A notable quirk is his hobby of collecting autographs from individuals he finds interesting, reflecting author Akira Toriyama's own habit.
His first appearance occurs during Arale's inaugural school day in Midori Yamabuki's class. After witnessing Arale's immense strength, he joins her friend circle alongside Taro and Akane. Key moments include an incident where Senbei Norimaki's See-Thru Glasses expose him and Taro naked, highlighting Peasuke's physical health contrast to Taro's smoking-damaged body and prompting Taro's short-lived pledge to quit smoking.
Another significant event involves using Senbei's Future Camera, which reveals Peasuke's dismay at remaining short ten years later. He later participates in Senbei and Arale's time-travel expedition to the prehistoric era, aiding in acquiring a dinosaur egg that hatches into Gatchan. During the "Monsters' Night" arc, he experiences his first romantic relationship with Hiyoko.
As an adult ten years post-series, he marries Hiyoko and fathers a child named Poosuke Soramame, though his height remains unchanged. In broader franchise crossovers, he briefly appears in the Dragon Ball manga during the Red Ribbon Army Saga, leaving school for vacation. The anime adaptation shows him at the Coffee Pot declaring intentions to complete homework. Decades later, in Dragon Ball Super episode 69, he reverts to a younger appearance during Arale's visit to the Coffee Pot despite over 30 years having passed. He also features in Dragon Ball Heroes: Victory Mission alongside Taro and Akane during a tournament.
Adaptation-wise, the 1997 Dr. Slump remake alters his hat color to gray but retains other traits. A live-action commercial portrays him by actor Kengo Kora, positioned near the Coffee Pot with Akane and Taro. Regarding the film "Hoyoyo! The City of Dreams, Mechapolis", promotional materials feature Peasuke on the poster, but he does not appear in the actual movie.
