Description
Eva Wei, originally called Molly, is the daughter of racing manager Don Wei and champion pilot Maya Wei. Born in 2067, her childhood was shattered when her mother died during a race against Spirit in 2072. This tragedy prompted Don Wei to send Eva to Stern Boarding School. She spent ten isolated years there, receiving no contact from her father. During this time, she honed mechanical and engineering skills, frequently breaking school rules by wearing male uniforms, smuggling contraband, and constructing a rocket seat for escape attempts. This isolation forged a rebellious, fiercely self-reliant nature.

In 2082, Eva left Stern seeking her father. Upon reunion, Don Wei failed to recognize her, mistaking her for a boy. Impressed by her repair skills, he hired her as a mechanic. Spotting a nearby poster, Eva adopted the alias "Molly". She stowed away on the Earth Team's ship bound for the planet Alwas and the Great Race of Oban. After pilot Rick Thunderbolt's injury, Eva took his place as pilot despite Don Wei's objections. Her natural talent and quick thinking secured victories, though inexperience and unresolved trauma from her mother's death sometimes hampered her. On Alwas, she formed a tentative friendship with Prince Aikka of Nourasia, later strained when he sabotaged her under orders.

Eva's racing journey demanded persistence. Early losses, including defeats against Toros and a vengeful race against Spirit, forced her to confront her past. She learned Spirit was not responsible; Maya had allowed him to pass before her fatal crash. Eva's goal shifted to winning the Ultimate Prize to resurrect her mother and reunite her family. Her decisive victory over Toros qualified the Earth Team for Oban.

On Oban, Eva faced advanced competitors like General Kross and Sul. Her relationship with Don Wei remained fraught until he confronted her identity. Though initially rejecting reconciliation, she later acknowledged their bond during the final races. She also navigated changing dynamics with Earth Team gunner Jordan Wilde, whose romantic feelings grew. In the climactic race, Eva allied with Prince Aikka to stop the Crogs. After winning, she refused the role of Avatar to prioritize family and friends. This freed the imprisoned Canaletto, who revealed he orchestrated Maya's death and Rick's crash to manipulate Eva into activating the pyramids. Jordan intervened, sacrificing himself to become the new Avatar. Eva later reunited with her father and Prince Aikka, finding closure. She declined Jordan's departure without a face-to-face goodbye but affirmed he was "better than ever".

Post-Oban, Eva reconciled with Don Wei and moved to a school closer to home. She abandoned her quest to revive her mother, recognizing family reconciliation as her true goal. Her appearance evolved; she retained her signature red-dyed hair but grew it longer, resembling her mother's stature. She pursued higher education in star-racer engineering at Rice University alongside a male companion, adhering to Don Wei's stipulation of gaining formal qualifications before returning to racing.

Physically, Eva has short, black hair dyed red at the top, dark red eyes, and facial tattoos: a star on her left cheek and a rectangle on her right, honoring her mother. She typically wears practical attire, including goggles and a racing uniform exposing her midriff. Her personality blends headstrong recklessness inherited from her parents with deep-seated insecurity. Initially distrustful, she gradually opened to teammates and allies. Key phrases like "Here goes nothing" and "Not good" punctuate her dialogue, reflecting her determined yet improvisational approach.
