Description
Kite Hitotsubashi leads STAND-ALONE, a top climber unit in Babel Tower, projecting a reserved and perfectionist public image. A traumatic car accident caused by a robot driver ten years ago killed his parents and left his younger sister Nagi hospitalized with ongoing medical needs, forging a deep-seated loathing for robots and androids. He later resided in an orphanage where he met close associates Light and Night. An anonymous benefactor called "Daddy-Long-Legs" supported them, inspiring Kite to embrace a philosophy of selfless aid.

As an adult, Kite founded Bar AIR in the volatile Diamond District to fund Nagi's treatments and support the community. He became a prominent figure and de facto leader there, an area with a strong Anti-Robot Faction. While sharing their disdain for androids, he largely remains indifferent to their actions unless personally involved. Managing the bar and orphanage programs cemented his reputation as a community benefactor.

He initially displayed curiosity and hospitality towards the android unit KNoCC, but upon discovering their nature, his attitude shifted to open hostility, consistent with his trauma. Nevertheless, he acknowledges talent irrespective of origin, praising the human composer Esora Shibaura.

His skills encompass combat proficiency honed in the Diamond District, alongside expertise in driving and maintaining a limited-edition hover bike, which he customizes as a hobby. He habitually drinks black coffee, adding milk and sugar only when fatigued.

A pivotal moment occurs during the human-versus-android climber battle on Babel's 5th Stage. Following STAND-ALONE's defeat by KNoCC, Nagi's condition critically deteriorates. Kite makes a significant act of self-sacrifice, volunteering to donate his organs to save her despite medical uncertainties regarding his own survival. Light and Night witness this decision. STAND-ALONE is later revealed to have been replaced by android counterparts; the disposition of the original human members, including Kite, remains unspecified.
