Description
Tsubame Tsubakura (Terry McScotty in English adaptations) is a central character originating from a noble warrior family in Tsubakura City. His parents, Sanjuurou and Sari, rigorously trained him in ninja techniques from childhood, instilling discipline and combat readiness. This training included adopting a Scottish accent as a tactical measure to confuse opponents, though his heritage remains culturally ambiguous.

Standing 130 cm tall, Tsubame has blue hair, tanned skin, and an androgynous appearance often leading to mistaken gender identity, though he is confirmed male. He typically wears a yellow outfit with a red scarf, blue cape, and carries a sword, reflecting his warrior lineage. His personality is marked by kindness, honesty, and maturity, making him the most level-headed member of Yamato's group. He demonstrates strong loyalty to friends and a deep sense of responsibility, frequently handling cooking and cleaning duties during group travels.

Tsubame's journey starts as a rival to Yamato, challenging him during training under Armada before becoming a close ally. His primary B-Daman, Wing Ninja, is destroyed in the IBA Winners Tournament semi-finals against Li Yong Fa. Barely surviving early rounds with a damaged B-Daman, he unlocks the "Wing Fury" strike shot through his bonds with friends, defeating Li and advancing. Wing Ninja is later recreated into Wing Sword using legendary parts retrieved from B-Daman Lake after Enjyu destroys it again. In later storylines, he acquires HudoFudoMaru and the "Split Shot" strike shot.

His development involves key training phases:
- During the Five Field Challenges, he trains with Sly to improve cooking skills, paralleling growth in patience and teamwork. He loses the Shield Stage battle to Sly but gains confidence through perseverance.
- In the Elite Eight tournament, he battles Liena (disguised as Sigma), losing due to strategic manipulation but demonstrating resilience. Later, he aids in rescuing Liena and Gray's hometown from the Shadow Alliance, showcasing leadership in combat coordination.
- Against the Neo Shadow Alliance, he travels west with Yamato's group, confronts Enjyu in Tsubakura City, and helps thwart Ike's village takeover. His aquatic skills prove crucial in battles, earning him the nickname "our fish" from allies.

Tsubame's relationships are pivotal. He shares a brotherly bond with Joe Tetsunosuke, who mentors him yet sometimes views him as an "annoying younger sibling." His loyalty to Yamato, Gray, and Bull deepens through shared battles, emphasizing camaraderie.

Trivia includes his June 6 birthday (shared with Biarce), blood type O, love for taiyaki, and a manga lisp where "s" sounds become "th." Post-series manga depicts him eventually surpassing Yamato in height.
