OVA
Description
Minky Momo hails from Fenarinarsa, a celestial realm of fairy tale beings threatened by separation from Earth as humanity's hopes and dreams fade. As royalty, she descends to Earth accompanied by three animal companions—Sindbook the dog, Mocha the monkey, and Pipil the bird—becoming the adopted daughter of a childless couple operating a pet care business. Her mission: reignite human imagination and optimism to tether Fenarinarsa back to Earth.

She wields the Minky Stick pendant to transform into an adult version of herself, assuming professions like police officer, veterinarian, airline stewardess, or football manager. Each transformation bestows expertise matching the finest human practitioners, letting her resolve crises. Successfully restoring an individual’s happiness manifests jewels in Fenarinarsa’s crown; twelve jewels would save her homeland.

Midway through her quest, external sponsorship conflicts abruptly strip her magic. She perishes colliding with a toy delivery truck, triggering reincarnation as the biological infant of her Earth parents. This severs her ties to Fenarinarsa but allows her to pursue personal dreams. A pink lizard named Kadzilla later aids her against lingering supernatural threats.

In the OVA "La Ronde in my Dream," set during her original mission, she infiltrates an island where adults regress to childhood via a mystical fountain. She rescues her Earth parents after their plane crash and confronts Peter Pan, who champions eternal childhood. Their clash underscores her commitment to responsibility and growth despite her youthful guise.

A successor sharing her name and title emerges in the sequel series, originating from Marinarsa—Fenarinarsa’s undersea counterpart. Accompanied by new companions (Cookbook, Lupipi, and Charmo), she initially aids humans with dwindling magic. As global crises escalate, she encounters the original reincarnated Momo and channels her powers to combat societal decay. Ultimately, with magic vanishing worldwide, she relinquishes her royal lineage permanently to become the true human daughter of her adoptive parents, embodying enduring faith in humanity’s dreams.

Later OVAs portray her in adolescence and adulthood devoid of magic, reflecting on past adventures while navigating ordinary life. A planned third iteration via the manga "Miracle Dream Minky Momo," featuring a land-based kingdom protagonist, remained unrealized in animation due to the creator’s death.

Her journey intertwines sacrifice and rebirth, culminating in choices that prioritize human bonds over magical heritage. Each incarnation embraces mortality to safeguard others’ capacity for dreams, nurturing hope amid fading wonder.
