Description
Tendonman is a recurring character in the Anpanman franchise. His most distinctive feature is his head, a pure white bowl filled with tendon (tempura rice), featuring round eyes, a small pink nose, and rosy cheeks; shrimp tempura pieces visibly protrude from the bowl. He dresses in a layered outfit: a brown jumper and pants, a pink vest, a long-sleeved blue shirt underneath, a blue scarf, and blue socks with sandals.

He embodies a cheerful, optimistic, and energetic personality, frequently dancing while singing his signature phrase, "♪Ten-ten, don-don, ten-don-don!♪" and tapping his head with chopsticks. These chopsticks, crafted by his mother, serve both for his dancing and occasional confrontations. Tendonman remains resilient and kind, rarely expressing anger even during conflicts with his fellow Donburi Trio members, Katsudonman and Kamameshidon. He displays notable bravery, showing little fear in unsettling situations and sometimes playfully teasing companions about ghosts.

Tendonman holds a strong dislike for Baikinman, who steals the tempura and rice from his head, causing distress and leaving it empty. While disagreements within the Donburi Trio can lead to temporary separations, Tendonman typically seeks solitude for quiet reflection during these times, contrasting with his companions who may assert their food specialties aggressively.

His name and performance-oriented behavior derive from "Chindon'ya," a form of Japanese street performance, explaining his propensity for singing and dancing to attract attention; this pun remains most directly associated with him, though it extends to other Donburi characters. He is one of the few non-townsfolk characters confirmed to have a mother. Tendonman's role is consistent as a supporting character within the Anpanman universe, emphasizing his energetic persona and membership in the Donburi Trio.
