Fred Shuffle is the ten-year-old younger brother of Roddy Shuffle. Stranded alongside his brother and eleven other children during the chaotic alien attack evacuation of the Clayad colony, he possesses brown hair and brown eyes. An anxious nature defines Fred, manifesting as significant concern and constant vigilance for his older brother Roddy's safety throughout their perilous journey. He travels with the group as they navigate the Janous training ship and operate VIFAM mecha to evade hostile forces in their attempt to reach Earth.
