Parental restrictions prevented him from keeping her, so he entrusted her to a female friend. The fox later died tragically: escaping with her parents to seek food, they raided a farm's chickens, prompting the owner to hunt them with dogs. Cornered during the pursuit, Akane witnessed her parents being shot and was killed by gunfire after a dog attack. This trauma left her with enduring phonophobia and cynophobia.

As an Intermediate-ranked guardian angel, she carries a reserved demeanor that initially suggests aloofness, yet harbors a fundamentally friendly nature. She exhibits particular warmth and shares a closer bond with fellow angel Midori than others in their group, displaying maturity beyond her apparent age. Her design incorporates elements reflecting her past life: a ponytail evoking a fox's tail and hair ribbons suggesting fox ears.
