TV-Series
Description
Minifée, princess of the Magic Kingdom (later known as Astoria), fled royal duties and parental neglect for Earth. Arriving there, she rescued schoolgirls Yoshiko Hanamura and Sumire Kasugano from burglars using magic. This act prompted her choice to remain on Earth indefinitely, hiding her magical origins from her new friends.
Her constant companion is Kabu, her shape-shifting magical assistant sent to retrieve her. Kabu adopted the form of a five-year-old boy, posing as her younger brother for cover. Minifée's Earth life involves episodic adventures navigating everyday challenges with discreet magic, often leading to comedic or problematic situations. She bonds closely with Yoshiko's younger triplet brothers, Tonkichi, Chinpei, and Kanta, and later befriends another witch girl, Poron, whose magic frequently causes unintended mishaps.
Minifée's father, the Magic Kingdom's ruler, disdains humanity and tests her readiness for queenship, like revoking her magic at critical moments. Her more lenient mother once erased Minifée's memories of the Magic Kingdom, allowing her to rebuild her life on Earth. In the original series' conclusion, Minifée exposed her powers to extinguish a school fire, forcing her return to the Magic Kingdom despite efforts to keep her secret.
The sequel series shows her quick return to Earth, reconnecting with friends and facing new challenges. This includes confronting Karen, a dark magical girl and daughter of her father's enemy, who underwent a redemption arc. Minifée also discovered Kabu is a fallen prince from a destroyed kingdom, entrusted to her parents. Her responsibilities grew as she cared for Kabu and Poron, acting as their guardian while balancing human life. She trained independently to become the future High Queen, mastering complex magic like elemental spells for healing.
A theatrical release depicted Minifée investigating a disruption in Earth's seasonal cycle, culminating in her ascension as queen of the Magic Kingdom, grappling with concerns about leaving her human friends. Her journey evolved her from a rebellious princess seeking freedom into a responsible leader embracing her role while maintaining connections to both worlds.
