Description
Lawrence, a young pastor overseeing a rural church, has brown eyes and short, tousled black hair, often clad in his signature black cassock and gold cross necklace. Orphaned early in life, he pursued seminary education, emerging with a grave yet courteous disposition, dedicated to his duties and fiercely protective of Cecilia, the local saint. He steadfastly refers to her as "Saint," resisting her bids for informality, though her name slips out in moments of urgency.

Each day, he balances church administration, meal preparations, and sculpting—a hobby marked by its unique aesthetic. A childhood trauma from overindulging in shellfish during an outing left him permanently averse to such foods. Though adept at swiftly discerning object ownership through sharp observation, he remains blind to romantic signals, including Cecilia’s affections, and lags in recognizing his own growing feelings for her.

Supernatural beings—angels, spirits—are instinctively drawn to him, but their presence endangers his well-being, forcing Cecilia to repel them. This aura also spooks animals, which shun him instinctively. Unaware of these entities, he puzzles over the cause.

Years prior, he crossed paths with Cecilia as she raced to prevent a town flood. Skeptical of her dire predictions, he corroborated her warnings by studying maps, then joined her in demolishing a bridge crucial to averting catastrophe. Their collaboration led to their shared residence at the church, where he acts as her caretaker, privy to her private, carefree demeanor contrasting her public piety.

With his friend Abel, Lawrence shifts from formal self-reference ("watashi") to casual ("ore"), reflecting their ease. Abel’s teasing about his lifelong immersion in scripture highlights his unwavering devotion to faith. The townsfolk watch his guarded yet deepening bond with Cecilia with fondness, tracking his gradual awakening to emotions he struggles to name.
