Description
Black Ghost is a terrorist organization dedicated to instigating global warfare to profit from arms sales and achieve world domination. Their operations employ highly advanced technology such as mobile tanks, robots, and cybernetic enhancements. Leadership rests with the Generalissimo, extraterrestrial brains housed in a statue-like structure, while field operations are commanded by Skull, a helmeted enforcer wearing a skull-shaped helmet.
The organization has operated since at least World War II, exploiting conflicts like the Cold War by supplying advanced weaponry to opposing factions. Their tactics include kidnapping individuals worldwide for forced conversion into cyborg soldiers. Nine such subjects formed the prototype "00 Cyborg" super-soldier line, who rebelled and escaped with defecting scientist Dr. Isaac Gilmore, becoming Black Ghost’s foremost adversaries.
In response, Black Ghost deployed successive cyborg assassin waves: the 0010-0013 series, the Greek mythology-themed "Mythos Cyborgs" engineered by Dr. Gaia, and the self-repairing "High-Teen Number Cyborgs" (0014-0018) developed by Dr. Adams Teufel. Despite setbacks, remnants persisted as "Neo Black Ghost" or independent factions using salvaged technology, such as researchers on Monster Island.
The organization escalated by infiltrating the subterranean Yomi Kingdom, displacing its inhabitants to construct the colossal "Demon Statue" weapon. During the ensuing confrontation, the Generalissimo revealed Black Ghost functions as a "cell" within a larger network, asserting its endurance is tied to perpetual human conflict and evil.
Their forces include infantry in gray-blue uniforms with distinctive helmets, mechanized "Cyborg Men," and specialized operatives like corporate-executive-turned-agent Van Vogt. Scientists within their ranks display varied motivations, ranging from coerced service to willing participation in unethical experiments.
