TV-Series
Description
Albert Heinrich, originating from Cold War East Germany, attempted an escape to West Berlin with his fiancée Hilda. Disguised as circus performers in a truck with forged IDs, their plan failed when border guards detected the fakes and opened fire. The resulting crash killed Hilda and left Albert severely injured. Near death, he was recovered by Black Ghost operatives and transported to their facilities for extensive cybernetic modification.

Catastrophic injuries necessitated Albert undergoing the most radical transformation among the 00 Cyborgs. Surgeons replaced nearly all organic components with weapon systems, preserving only his brain and spinal cord. His body became integrated firearms: machine guns concealed within his right fingertips, an electromagnetic laser knife in his left hand, and anti-aircraft missile launchers built into his knees. Chronic pain from the mechanical construction plagued early operational tests, exacerbating psychological trauma from Hilda's death and triggering suicidal tendencies. Technical instabilities forced Black Ghost to place him, alongside other first-generation cyborgs, into cryogenic stasis for approximately four decades until advancements could stabilize their systems.

Awakening in the modern era, Albert retained a cynical and stoic demeanor forged by wartime experiences and loss. Chronologically in his 70s but physically appearing in his 30s, he frequently reflects on human conflict and the ethics of violence. Initial despair over his mechanized existence gradually gave way to camaraderie with fellow cyborgs. He assumes a protective, older-brother role toward Joe Shimamura (009), offering strategic guidance during missions. His relationship with Jet Link (002) remains contentious due to clashing personalities, yet rooted in mutual loyalty forged as first-generation subjects.

Albert serves as the team's primary tactician and heavy-weapons specialist. His integrated weaponry provides versatile combat options: machine guns for sustained firepower, the laser knife for cutting reinforced materials, and knee missiles for aerial threats. During the OVA "Conclusion: GOD'S WAR," Ivan Whisky (001) unlocks latent psychic abilities within the cyborgs, granting Albert telekinetic control over his projectiles. This enables homing bullets coated with psychic energy, significantly enhancing their destructive potential.

His character arc involves reconciling his humanity with his mechanical form. Early struggles include self-loathing over his weaponized body and distrust of organizations reminiscent of Black Ghost. Through alliances with teammates like Pyunma (008) and interventions such as comforting Françoise Arnoul (003) during emotional crises, he transitions from isolation to valuing the cyborg unit as a surrogate family. This development anchors his commitment to protecting civilians and opposing war profiteering, directly countering his creators' philosophy.
