Disguised as circus performers in a truck with forged IDs, their plan failed when border guards detected the fakes and opened fire. The resulting crash killed Hilda and left Albert severely injured. Near death, he was recovered by Black Ghost operatives and transported to their facilities for extensive cybernetic modification.
