Jim Taggert

Description
Jim Taggert is the professional alias used by American voice actor Peter Doyle, who was active in English dubs of anime and video games, primarily from the early 2000s to around 2010. He adopted this pseudonym for his work in non-union productions. Based in Los Angeles, California, Doyle built a career voicing a wide array of characters, often portraying softer-voiced young men, teenagers, or fatherly figures, though he occasionally took on roles that deviated from this type.

During his career, Taggert was credited with several notable roles in English-dubbed anime. He voiced Birdman in the 2002 OVA series Galerians: Rion. He was the English voice of Albert Heinrich, also known as Cyborg 004, in the 2001 version of Cyborg 009: The Cyborg Soldier. In the Media Blasters English dub of the Here is Greenwood OVA, he provided the voice for Mitsuru Ikeda. He also voiced Tomohisa Harada in the anime Mezzo Forte and Clay Cliff Fortran in the series Pilot Candidate.

Beyond the specific roles listed, Taggert's voice can be heard in numerous other anime series. Some of his other prominent credits include Dominic Sorel in Eureka Seven, Tanda in Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit, Masaru Aoki in Hajime no Ippo, Rakushun in The Twelve Kingdoms, and Young Zenki in Kishin Douji Zenki. He was also part of the voice cast for the Bandai Visual USA English dub of the Patlabor movies, voicing Shigeo Shiba.

His work extended into video games as well, with roles such as Noel Chandler in Star Ocean: Second Evolution and Roland in Luminous Arc 2. He also provided the voice for Wing Knight and Torque in Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight. Taggert's last documented voice roles for some time were around 2009 and 2010, leading to speculation about his retirement from voice acting. However, he made a return to the role in 2020, reprising his character Dominic Sorel for the film Eureka Seven: Hi-Evolution.
