TV-Series
Description
Re Vega, the tyrannical ruler of the Vegan Empire, serves as its primary antagonist. His alien appearance features orange skin, tall pointed ears, red slit-like eyes with black pupils, and black facial markings. He typically wears a red-and-white skintight suit with chest and shoulder padding, a red cape, and a purple helmet bearing three short horns and a blue demonic face design.

His reign stems from exploiting Vegatron, a radioactive ore that destabilized Planet Vega's core. Facing planetary collapse, he spearheaded a militaristic expansion, targeting neighboring worlds like peaceful Fleed. His forces devastated Fleed, transforming it into a radioactive wasteland and slaughtering its population; Crown Prince Duke Fleed remained the sole royal survivor.

Re Vega embodies ruthlessness, cruelty, and authoritarian rule, governing through military supremacy and deceit while ignoring Intergalactic Alliance sanctions. His treachery is exemplified by a false agreement to the engagement between his daughter Rubina and Duke Fleed, which he exploited to justify invading Fleed. He shows no empathy for his subjects, abandoning them during Vega's environmental collapse, yet displays genuine care for high-ranking subordinates and especially Rubina, refusing to use her as bait despite strategic benefits.

Pursuing Duke Fleed and the war robot Grendizer to Earth, Re Vega established a lunar command base. He orchestrated attacks using Saucer Beasts, later deploying Vega Beasts as cyborg biological weapons. His tactical reliance on overwhelming force is undermined by critical flaws, like deploying forces incrementally rather than in consolidated assaults.

His campaign culminates in a final, desperate bid to conquer Earth. To eliminate retreat and force a decisive battle, he destroyed his own lunar base. This act led to the obliteration of his flagship by Grendizer and allied forces, resulting in his death. His motives and tyrannical methods remain unyielding and consistent across portrayals.

Re Vega's legacy persists as the Vegan Empire continues conflicts in sequels and crossovers like the *Super Robot Wars* games, where he maintains his role as a genocidal conqueror. Expanded backstories or alternate portrayals in spin-offs (e.g., *Grendizer U*) focus on successors like General Cassado, not featuring him directly.
