Description
Neko no Tamami began life as a stray kitten born to a wandering mother on August 12. During a rainstorm, she crossed paths with young Gorō Mutsumi, who longed to adopt her but faced resistance until a neighborhood girl proposed shared guardianship. The trio bonded, with the girl naming the kitten after herself. Tragedy struck when Tamami vanished, later discovered fatally injured by a vehicle—an event that scarred Gorō and propelled her reincarnation as a guardian angel haunted by vehicular phobia.

Serving as the ninth among twelve celestial protectors, she balances duty shielding Gorō with confronting her lingering trauma. Her design blends orange and white fur, initially accessorized with glasses before adopting contact lenses in later arcs. Mythological ties position her as the ordained bride of Gai, a member of the Four Saint Beasts, anchoring her within the series’ wider cosmic struggles.

Tamami radiates sociable charm layered over emotional fragility. She craves validation, delights in academic pursuits—especially mathematics—and shirks mundane tasks like cleaning. Though warm-hearted, she occasionally lashes out defensively when sensing threats to her bonds, driven by deep-seated fears of abandonment. Her journey traces incremental strides toward mastering anxieties linked to her mortal demise, mirroring the collective arc of angels grappling with trauma-born fears.

Post-magical narratives shift her focus to mundane family life and relational hurdles alongside fellow angels, reflecting the story’s pivot toward grounded drama. Crossovers with Saint Beasts lore expand her mythic relevance without diverting from her core identity as a protector torn between devotion and inner dread.
