Description
Landfill emerges as the unified gestalt of the Build Team—four construction vehicle Autobots: Wedge, Heavy Load, Hightower, and Grimlock. Governed entirely by Wedge’s neural command as the core component, the trio relinquishes individual control during fusion. This integration permits dynamic limb reassignment, activating three specialized combat modes. Hurricane Mode assigns Grimlock to the arms and deploys Heavy Load and Hightower as legs for balanced assault and defense. Typhoon Mode channels Heavy Load’s raw strength into the arms for overwhelming offense, while Cyclone Mode leverages Hightower’s agility in close-quarters combat.
The Build Team first merged into Landfill during a clash with Megatron and Scourge at an Arctic energy facility, driving back the Decepticon assault. Subsequent confrontations against the combiner Ruination ended in mutual collapse following an oil reservoir detonation, prompting Optimus Prime to extract the Autobots. Landfill later joined forces with Rail Racer to safeguard Fortress Maximus, thwarted Ruination again, and shielded Optimus from Galvatron’s paralytic weaponry in a decisive showdown.
Interdimensional endeavors expanded Landfill’s scope. As a Dimensional Patrol agent, he assisted Skids and Sky-Byte in repelling Majin Zarak’s incursions into the Legends World. During the Universe War, Unicron’s attempt to ensnare Landfill in the Cauldron was foiled by Rhinox, redirecting him to a glacial planetoid. There, he united with time-displaced Autobots to dismantle Unicron’s vanguard before returning home. A divergent timeline under Megazarak’s Robo-Smasher reprogrammed Landfill into the Decepticon Devastator.
Team synergy hinges on Wedge’s bold leadership, tempered by Heavy Load’s might, Hightower’s vigilance, and Grimlock’s logic. Their engineering prowess birthed the Global Spacebridge network, a linchpin in Autobot strategy. Landfill’s Tornado Fusion System enables instantaneous limb reconfiguration, paired with modular armaments like shoulder-mounted artillery and adaptive handheld weaponry, though tactical add-ons like back-mounted gear were excluded from standard schematics.
Multiverse iterations include a Walmart-exclusive yellow repaint woven into Universe lore and a green-and-purple Decepticon homage evoking Generation One Devastator.
