Description
Gas Skunk is a Predacon operative serving under Megatron, assigned primarily to Earth for energy theft and other malicious operations. He is most often seen alongside fellow Predacons Dark Scream and Slapper, forming a trio frequently regarded as stooges. Within this group, Gas Skunk is considered the cleverest, though the general standard of intelligence among them is low. He possesses notable skill as an inventor, capable of developing new weapon technologies when necessary, and holds knowledge in Cybertronian law and computer programming.

His intellect, however, is frequently undercut by a habit of misusing large words and a lack of long-term planning. A deeply ingrained cowardice defines much of his behavior, leading him to retreat readily when facing superior force. He also exhibits bullying tendencies, especially toward those he perceives as weaker.

In combat, Gas Skunk employs a bicep-mounted "Left Laser" blaster and a serrated tail, both capable of significant damage. His most distinctive weapon is the ability to generate massive, foul-smelling clouds of smoke from his mouth in both robot and alternate modes. This smoke can blind and disorient opponents and corrode structures, though it is highly flammable—a weakness exploited by the Autobot Railspike.

Gas Skunk and his companions consistently attempt to shift blame for their failures onto their immediate commander, Sky-Byte. They hold mutual resentment toward the new Decepticon forces, viewing them as a threat to their standing within Megatron's army.

His missions have included destroying a freight train, stealing energy generators and advanced technology, and participating in attacks on human cities as diversions for larger schemes. He was often tasked with guarding captured Autobots, though these efforts usually ended in failure. His inventions, such as an ion beam weapon for disrupting electrical systems and a combination tracker/bugging device, have been deployed in plans to defeat the Autobots or steal valuable assets, though these endeavors often ultimately fail. Following the rise of the Decepticons, the Predacons—including Gas Skunk—were relegated to a secondary status within the faction, intensifying their animosity toward the new troops.
