Description
Fire Convoy, recognized as Optimus Prime in Western adaptations, led the Autobots during their Earth mission. Created by Alpha Trion alongside Ultra Magnus during Cybertron's Golden Age, they were raised as brothers. This bond fractured during the Cybertronian Civil Wars when the Matrix of Leadership chose Optimus to command the Autobots against Megatron's Predacons, prompting a bitter Ultra Magnus to leave Cybertron.

Operating from a concealed base near Metro City, Fire Convoy adopted a red fire truck as his Earth-based alternate mode. His leadership focused on protecting human life and thwarting Megatron's destructive goals, especially after the Predacons kidnapped scientist Dr. Kenneth Onishi. Fire Convoy formed a protective alliance with Onishi's son Koji, becoming a parental figure and pledging to rescue Dr. Onishi. His combat arsenal featured a "Blizzard Storm" freeze attack from his ladder-mounted cannon and transformation into a heavily armed "Battle Mode" by combining with his trailer unit.

A core trait was his steadfast belief in redemption, frequently leading him to trust adversaries feigning reform, like Decepticon leader Scourge. Scourge originated from an Autobot protoform corrupted by Megatron that scanned both Fire Convoy and a fuel tanker, resulting in a twisted physical resemblance. Repeated betrayals tempered this idealism, though he maintained hope for the Decepticons' eventual restoration.

Fire Convoy's relationship with Ultra Magnus shifted dramatically when Magnus arrived on Earth to seize the Matrix. Initially refusing to fight his brother, Fire Convoy was overpowered until their forced combination activated the Omega Prime mode. This fusion merged their consciousnesses and shared the Matrix's power, resolving their conflict and enabling them to jointly repel the Decepticons and Predacons. Their alliance culminated in the final battle against Megatron (upgraded to Galvatron) at Earth's core. As Omega Prime, they channeled energy from the ancient fortress Fortress Maximus to forge the Matrix Blade, defeating Galvatron and concluding their mission.

Fire Convoy's design and concept originated in the 2001 *Car Robots* Japanese continuity, where he commanded a "Dimensional Patrol" protecting Earth's Cybertronian artifacts. The Western adaptation established a standalone continuity where he led Autobots against Predacons and their Decepticon offshoots.
