OVA
Description
Lilia hails from Lance Village on the floating island of Ys. She discovers the unconscious Adol Christin after his arrival from Esteria and brings him to her village for recovery. Suffering from a life-threatening illness that claimed her father, Lilia is later cured by Adol during his quest. This cure leads her to develop deep feelings for him.

Her role expands in adaptations such as the OVA *Ys II: Castle in the Heavens*, where she receives greater narrative focus as a primary heroine. This OVA depicts her involvement in Adol's journey more prominently than the original game, including interactions with characters like Keith. In *Ys IV: The Dawn of Ys*, Lilia actively pursues Adol across Esteria, and supplementary material implies a marital relationship between them in this continuity. She also appears in *Ys IV: Mask of the Sun*, chasing Adol through the region of Celceta.

The non-canon *Ys II Special* significantly reimagines her storyline. Early in this game, Adol rescues her from a sacrificial ritual, altering her initial narrative purpose. This version introduces new plot elements where Lilia's fate diverges from the original lore. Game mechanics in *Ys II Eternal* feature a gift-giving system; providing enough gifts to Lilia unlocks alternate ending scenes reflecting her closeness to Adol.

Lilia's cultural impact in Japan was substantial. A 1990 "Miss Lilia Contest" drew nearly 2,000 applicants to select a real-life embodiment of the character. Her popularity is further reflected in dedicated musical themes, including the vocal track "Lilia" and the village theme "Too Full with Love," which symbolizes her unspoken affection.
