Description
Minerva Orland, daughter of Jiemma and former heir to Sabertooth's leadership, endured severe physical and psychological abuse under her father’s harsh training. This included punishment for perceived weakness, such as when her refusal to execute a defeated guildmate led Jiemma to kill the mage personally. As further discipline, he abandoned her in a forest to survive lethal creatures until meeting his strength standards, embedding deep-seated fear of failure and obsession with power.

Initially Sabertooth’s strongest mage, Minerva projected a calm, aristocratic demeanor with formal speech. Her Eastern-inspired appearance featured long black hair in twin buns and braids, geisha-style makeup, and a distinctive cheongsam with a thigh-high slit secured by laces and metal fasteners. Beneath this elegance lay ruthlessness: during the X791 Grand Magic Games’ Naval Battle, she teleported the defenseless Lucy Heartfilia into close combat, prolonging her torture before displaying Lucy’s unconscious body as a trophy. She similarly tortured Millianna to provoke Erza Scarlet and Kagura Mikazuchi, calling victims’ screams "music to her ears."

Minerva echoed Jiemma’s view of weaker mages as "trash," prioritizing Sabertooth’s dominance through tactics like taking hostages—allies such as Lector or enemies like Happy—to force advantages. A subtle complexity surfaced when she instinctively shielded Lector from Jiemma’s wrath, manipulating the incident to overthrow her father. Despite guild support to claim leadership, she ceded the master role to Sting Eucliffe, acknowledging his potential to reform the guild.

After Sabertooth’s defeat in the Games and her loss to Erza, Minerva deserted the diminished guild. She joined dark guild Succubus Eye, adopting a new outfit with a fur-lined coat and thigh-high boots. Later recruited by Tartaros, she underwent demonification into "Neo Minerva," gaining clawed hands, a black eye-patch-like marking across her face and body, horns, and minimal clothing under a long cloak. Her magic intensified, but her vengeful pursuit of Erza ended in another defeat, psychological collapse, and begging for mercy.

Rescued by Sting and Rogue at Erza’s request, Minerva returned to Sabertooth. Freed from Jiemma’s influence and accepted by her guildmates, her personality shifted: she expressed remorse, apologizing to Lucy, and participated in guild activities like winning an eating contest. While retaining strategic cunning, her arrogance faded into loyalty.

Her primary magic, Territory, enabled spatial manipulation within her sight—teleporting objects or people, swapping positions, generating destructive spatial waves, and altering environmental properties like temperature. Secondary magic Yagdo Rigora summoned a statue unleashing massive blasts via incantation. She also possessed heightened strength, durability, and combat acumen.
