Description
Kein, operating under the earthly identity Kei Kanou, is an emissary dispatched from the parallel world Queen Earth. His cover as a sixth-grade transfer student at White Dove Academy facilitates his mission: locating the Flower of Life and identifying the legendary guardian, Nurse Angel. His true self is Kanon, a warrior from Queen Earth, a planet poisoned and devastated by the evil organization Dark Joker, forcing his journey to Earth to avert similar destruction.
Kanon acts under the directive of Queen Helena, ruler of Queen Earth, with whom he shares a history as both childhood friend and romantic partner. His unwavering loyalty to her and their imperiled world drives his actions. He initially mentors Ririka Moriya after granting her the magical nurse cap enabling her transformation into Nurse Angel, though harboring doubts about her ability to shoulder the responsibility alone.
In combat, Kanon wields a sword and psionic abilities. His demeanor is characteristically serious, stoic, and duty-bound. Displays of emotion are rare, typically emerging only during interactions with Ririka or when confronted by Queen Helena's deteriorating health – a condition mirroring Queen Earth's decline. His earthly persona, Kanou, garners significant admiration at school for academic and athletic excellence, cementing his princely image.
Kanon's arc faces turmoil when a confrontation with Dark Joker agent Keto leaves him critically injured. Infected with the Black Vaccine and aware of the limited Green Vaccine cure, he refuses treatment to conserve it for Ririka's fight. Before succumbing, he transfers his psionic powers to Seiya Uzaki, entrusting him with Ririka's protection.
Dark Joker later resurrects Kanon, brainwashing him into their service. In this corrupted state, he becomes a primary antagonist, exhibiting heightened ruthlessness and employing deceptive tactics like the Wounded Gazelle Gambit to undermine Nurse Angel. His attire shifts from white to navy, marking his allegiance to darkness. Despite becoming an implacable foe, fragments of his original self surface when severely weakened.
Ultimately, Ririka purifies Kanon, shattering Dark Joker's control. Restored to his true self, he returns to Queen Earth, reunites with Queen Helena, and fulfills his original mission to safeguard their world.
