TV-Series
Description
Nozomu Kanou, alias Kanon, hails from Queen Earth as an emissary dispatched by Queen Helena. His critical mission: find the Flower of Life and its legendary guardian, Nurse Angel, to combat the Dark Joker organization poisoning his home planet. To infiltrate Earth, he adopts the identity of a sixth-grade transfer student at White Dove Academy, posing as an exchange student from England.

Kanon exhibits a serious, duty-bound demeanor, rarely showing emotion except for occasional smiles directed at Ririka Moriya, the elementary school girl he recruits as Nurse Angel. He becomes her mentor, guiding her transformation and duties while privately doubting her initial readiness for the role. In battle, he wields a sword and employs psionic powers, though his health steadily declines from prolonged exposure to Dark Joker's Black Vaccine and the strain of his mission.

His past reveals a profound bond with Queen Helena, his childhood friend and lover. Their fates are intertwined; Helena's failing health mirrors Queen Earth's deterioration under Dark Joker's assault, fueling Kanon's unwavering resolve.

A critical juncture arrives when the Black Vaccine weakens Kanon severely. He transfers his remaining psionic powers to Seiya Uzaki, Ririka's childhood friend, entrusting him to support her. Shortly after, Dark Joker lieutenant Keto fatally wounds Kanon. Refusing the scarce Green Vaccine essential for Nurse Angel's powers, he dies. His death forces Ririka and Seiya to continue the fight alone.

Dark Joker later resurrects and brainwashes Kanon, turning him into a remorseless antagonist against Nurse Angel. His appearance shifts to darker attire, reflecting his corrupted allegiance. During a pivotal battle, Ririka purifies him using the Green Vaccine, breaking Dark Joker's control. Restored, Kanon returns to Queen Earth to reunite with Helena.

In the series' conclusion, Kanon delivers a tragic revelation to Ririka: her life is intrinsically linked to the Flower of Life, and sacrificing herself is the only path to save both Earth and Queen Earth, underscoring his role as a bearer of painful truths.

Media variations exist: the manga introduces Queen Earth citizens posing as Kanon's parents and his butler Shion, elements absent in the anime. The anime amplifies his internal conflict while brainwashed, showing moments of vulnerability when critically injured where his true self briefly surfaces. The manga also attributes him with the ability to erase memories of humans exposed to the conflict, a detail not explored in the anime.
