Description
Andro Umeda hails from the planet Sanno, becoming its sole survivor after the Waldasters annihilated his homeworld and its people. Rescued during a Waldaster attack by Dr. Amachi, he was recruited into Earth's resistance organization, the Space Knights. His initial drive for vengeance against the Waldasters evolved through his growing camaraderie with fellow Space Knight Johji Minami.

He possesses a human appearance akin to Latin-American descent, marked by a prominent blonde afro. His alien physiology grants potent psychic abilities enabling flight, teleportation, lightspeed movement, phasing through solid objects, and physical strength exceeding human limits. These powers also permit brief survival in the vacuum of space, though overexertion leads to severe exhaustion and vulnerability.

He operates aboard the spacecraft Blue Earth alongside Johji Minami (Tekkaman), Hiromi Amachi, and the mutant Sanno native Mutan, defending Earth from Waldaster forces and researching leap navigation technology to find a habitable "second Earth" for humanity. His irreverent personality and confidence in his alien knowledge stoke suspicion in Johji, who occasionally brands him a potential traitor due to his intense hatred of their enemies. Despite this friction, their shared goal of fighting the Waldasters maintains a non-hostile relationship.

Beyond the original 1975 anime series, he appears as a playable character in the PlayStation fighting game *Tatsunoko Fight*, representing the *Tekkaman* franchise. He also features in the crossover anime *Infini-T Force*, interacting with characters from other Tatsunoko properties like *Gatchaman* and *Casshan* within a distinct narrative continuity.

Plans for the original series' unresolved plot, cancelled after 26 episodes, involved the Space Knights venturing deeper into space to locate a new human colony while engaging the Waldaster fleet. This arc would have introduced new conflicts, including Johji’s father reappearing as an enemy Tekkaman; specific details regarding his role or development in these unproduced episodes remain undocumented. He has no further canonical appearances or developments in later *Tekkaman* media like *Tekkaman Blade* or its sequels, which exist as separate continuities.
