Description
Mome, originating from the Mu civilization hailed for advanced robotics, is an android crafted in the form of a young girl. Her core programming mandates absolute loyalty and service to her purchaser, a directive defining her purpose after Kei Katsuragi acquires her during his travels. Her technical capabilities encompass medical functions, mechanical repairs, nursing care, and domestic tasks, including demonstrated proficiency in maintaining and repairing the Orguss mecha. She later locates, rebuilds, and reprograms the combat-model Mu robot Taii, integrating him despite his rigid initial protocols.
Despite her artificial nature, emotional expression forms a key aspect of her characterization. She openly displays affection, particularly toward Kei, vocalizing devotion and aspirations to become his wife, contrasting with her designated servant role. This attachment persists even as Kei pursues relationships with others.
Within the Memorial OVA releases, her perspective frames the story in "Mome's Dream." This compilation utilizes existing series footage with new narration, emphasizing her viewpoint and the romantic dynamics involving Kei and Mimsy, without introducing new character development or background beyond the television series. Her role receives no expansion in the sequel series "Orguss 02," featuring a new cast centuries later. Similarly, no other official media elaborates on her Mu origins, creation, or experiences prior to Kei.
