Description
Wendy Marvell is a young female Sky Dragon Slayer originating from the Cait Shelter guild. Born approximately 400 years before the year X777, she was orphaned and subsequently adopted by the Sky Dragon Grandeeney. Her childhood included interactions with fellow Dragon Slayer children during annual gatherings organized by their dragon foster parents. Grandeeney later transported Wendy through the Eclipse Gate to X777, intending her as a vessel in a plan to combat the black dragon Acnologia.

Following Grandeeney's unexplained disappearance, Wendy wandered alone until encountering Mystogan, who introduced himself as Jellal. He permitted her brief companionship but left her at Cait Shelter, deeming his journey too perilous. She remained with this guild until joining the alliance against the dark guild Oración Seis. The Nirvana incident revealed Cait Shelter was an illusion created by spirits guarding Nirvana, prompting her to join Fairy Tail. After Fairy Tail's temporary disbandment, she and her Exceed companion Carla briefly joined Lamia Scale before returning to aid in rebuilding Fairy Tail.

Her appearance features long dark blue hair, initially waist-length but cut short during the Tartaros arc; the celestial spirit Cancer later restored its original length. She possesses the elongated canine teeth characteristic of Dragon Slayers. Her attire varies significantly: an early dress with wing-like arm and leg attachments; Edolas-inspired pigtails and a frilled skirt; Tenrou Island battle garments including a kimono; post-Hades rescue suit-like attire; and Grand Magic Games team-themed dress. Her guild mark migrated from the right shoulder (Cait Shelter) to Fairy Tail's emblem in the same location.

Initially characterized by shyness, politeness, and clumsiness, Wendy avoided combat yet fought fiercely to protect friends or her guild. Early insecurity manifested as doubts about her combat abilities and physical appearance. She shares a profoundly close bond with her Exceed partner Carla, whom she met as a hatchling. Exposure to Fairy Tail and pivotal battles progressively bolstered her confidence and bravery. During the Tartaros arc, she cut her hair as a symbol of resolve to stop crying and fight alongside her friends. By the Alvarez Empire arc, she proactively engaged powerful foes like Dimaria and Irene Belserion to protect allies. Like other first-generation Dragon Slayers, she developed motion sickness during Fairy Tail's disbandment period, unable to self-treat it with healing magic.

Her primary magic is Sky Dragon Slayer Magic, enabling manipulation of air for offense, defense, and support. Unique applications include healing severe injuries—even those inflicted by dragons—through spells like Heal and Troia, with the latter temporarily curing motion sickness. Support capabilities involve augmenting allies' speed and attack power via enchantments. Offensive techniques encompass Sky Dragon's Roar (a wind-based breath attack), Sky Dragon's Wing Attack, and Sky Dragon's Crushing Fang. She senses air currents to predict weather.

Key power developments include unlocking Dragon Force during the Tartaros arc while facing the demon Ezel, significantly enhancing her physical and magical prowess. She later mastered this form, deploying it against adversaries like the Jade Dragon and Face's activation system. Her combat contributions include neutralizing poison during the Oración Seis conflict, aiding in Nirvana's destruction by shattering a lacrima crystal, and participating in major battles against Hades, Tartaros, and Acnologia.
