Description
Charles Britain is the English name for Charles Brenten, resulting from a translation error from the original Japanese. He leads the Tank Police squad in Newport City. Brenten exhibits an intensely macho personality and consistently ignores police regulations, civilian safety, and property damage during operations.

Renowned as the Tank Police's best marksman, he wields a large, old-fashioned revolver dubbed "the Castigator" instead of standard automatics. This preference for heavy personal weaponry matches his reported lifetime subscription to "How to Kill" magazine. His name originates from the Bren Ten 10mm handgun featured in *Miami Vice*, as stated by the manga's creator.

As squad leader, he commands Tank Police officers and their miniature tanks against criminals. His aggressive tactics frequently cause massive collateral damage, severely stressing the ulcer-plagued Police Chief. Brenten openly advocates overwhelming force, stating criminals require extreme measures like "cutting out a cancer," necessitating acceptance of collateral damage.

He holds authority over officers Leona Ozaki and Al Southwell. Conflict arises when Leona salvages parts from his damaged favorite tank to build her smaller Bonaparte tank. Brenten shows reluctance to deploy his prized tanks to major crime scenes for fear of damage. Later organizational changes place Charlie Nam as his dedicated tank pilot/weapons officer. Administrative tasks, like demanding overdue reports, fall to the Chief's aide, Sophie Tucker.

His operations involve confronting major Newport City threats, including the bio-terrorist group responsible for the polluted atmosphere and the recurring criminal Buaku with his android Puma Sisters accomplices. His methods remain aggressively consistent in all engagements.

In the sequel *Dominion Conflict One: No More Noise*, the Tank Police expands into a formal multi-division unit within the Newport City Police Department. Despite this shift, Charles Brenten retains command and his characteristic disregard for procedure. His portrayal in the spin-off *TANK S.W.A.T. 01* maintains these established traits. His personal background, origins, and character development remain unexplored; his role, personality, and policing approach stay consistent throughout all appearances.
