During one assault, Takeshi suffered near-fatal injuries, only surviving when Dr. Gestell fused an experimental "Polymet" helmet into his body. The procedure saved his life but killed Gestell, driving Takeshi to vow vengeance using the scientist’s technology while hiding his identity. To evade his father’s oversight and shield the Polymar suit, Takeshi adopted a cover as the clumsy assistant at Kuruma Detective Agency. There, he covertly tracked criminal networks, feeding intelligence to his vigilante operations. Coworkers Jo Kuruma and Teru Nanba never suspected his double life or police lineage. The Polymar suit—crafted from memory plastic—granted superhuman physicality, rapid healing, and resistance to bullets, heat, and toxins. Voice-activated through its helmet, it transformed into five vehicles: the Polymar Machine (race car), Drill (tank), Hawk (jet), Grandplus (submarine), and Roller (steamroller). Yet its power waned after 46 minutes, with weaknesses to extreme cold and electromagnetic disruption. His vigilante crusade strained relations with his father, culminating in disinheritance.
