Description
Genzō Makishima directed the Japanese branch of the Chronos Corporation and acted as the blood uncle and adoptive father of Agito Makishima, following his murder of Agito's father, his own brother. His role required overseeing advanced Zoanoid model development and managing Chronos operations in Japan. Makishima's failure to secure three lost Guyver units after an escaped test Zoanoid named Malmot detonated explosives, scattering the units, resulted in Chronos official Richard Guyot dismissing him as director.

Punished for repeated failures, Makishima was forcibly transformed into the prototype Zoanoid Enzyme I, a specialized "Guyver-Killer." This incomplete optimization left him with a drastically reduced lifespan of roughly seven days. Enzyme I stood nearly 10 feet tall, weighed 324 kg, and exhibited a hybrid physique blending rat and anglerfish traits: white fur, an elongated neck, bulbous red eyes, massive claws, talon-like feet, and a muscular tail tipped with a stinger spike. Four head antennae served an unspecified sensory or respiratory purpose. Its primary weapon was highly corrosive blood containing an enzyme engineered to dissolve Guyver bio-armor on contact. This enzyme degraded rapidly in air, necessitating direct injection via Enzyme I's teeth, claws, or tail stinger during attacks. The creature possessed immense superhuman strength and endurance, capable of sustaining severe injuries like limb loss and continuing to fight.

Consumed by rage and vengeance against Guyver I (Sho Fukamachi), whom he blamed for his downfall, Makishima engaged Guyver I in brutal combat. As Enzyme I, he succeeded in ripping the control medal from Guyver I's forehead, destabilizing the armor and causing it to begin consuming its host. However, the fatally wounded Guyver I reanimated as a bio-boosted creature and attacked. Deeming Makishima expendable, Richard Guyot telepathically commanded Enzyme I to self-destruct. The resulting explosion killed both Enzyme I and the remnants of Guyver I, leaving only dissolved remains.

Makishima's personality was marked by pride, ambition, manipulation, and uncaring ruthlessness. He viewed others, including family, solely as tools for advancement and showed no remorse. Sycophantic towards superiors, he harbored deep-seated anger towards those he deemed beneath him. Fear of losing status and power fueled his actions, especially after his demotion. In human form, he appeared as a short, older man with gray or brown hair, typically depicted in formal business attire like suits and ties.

During the events of "Guyver: Out of Control," as head of Chronos Japan, Makishima personally oversaw retrieval operations for the lost Guyver units. He ordered the abduction and assassination of individuals linked to Sho Fukamachi, including Sho's friends Takaya and Morio and a police officer. Following Valkyria's (Guyver II) death, Makishima confronted Sho, holding Mizuki Segawa hostage at gunpoint in a final, desperate bid to kill Guyver I and restore his standing within Chronos. This confrontation ended not with Guyver I killing him, but with Guyver III (Agito Makishima) intervening to save Sho and Mizuki as the Chronos facility collapsed.
