Eriko "Ellie" Kusumoto is the lead software developer and test ace pilot for the MADOX powered armor project. She wields direct operational expertise, having piloted the advanced MADOX-01 in a virtual reality combat simulation where she decisively defeated multiple tanks commanded by Lieutenant Kilgore within three minutes, showcasing her technical mastery and combat proficiency with the system she helped create.
Following the accidental release of the MADOX-01 into Tokyo, she actively joins the military recovery operation. Her involvement intensifies upon recognizing Lieutenant Kilgore's personal vendetta against the MADOX-01 and his willingness to cause significant collateral damage. To counter this threat and regain control, she pilots the earlier prototype model, the MADOX-00. While less advanced than the MADOX-01, the MADOX-00 retains substantial combat capability under her skilled control.
