Go Takarada is an enthusiastic young treasure hunter relentlessly pursuing the legendary Salamander treasure. His persistent and optimistic personality drives him forward despite frequent setbacks. His childhood friend, Mari Yumenokata, often expresses frustration with his single-minded focus, though she sometimes joins his adventures. During a search atop a 30-story shrine building, he encounters the naked elf princess, Rane Chepanikorus. A significant language barrier causes miscommunication, yet Go interprets Rane's appearance as crucial to finding the Salamander treasure. He later learns Rane seeks four distinct "treasures of Heart," initially confusing this with his own quest.

Go has three sisters: Haruki, Natsuki, and Miyuki Takarada. Haruki leads a group called the "Fire department." Some of his sisters are affiliated with opposing groups involved in the treasure hunt, complicating his mission. In the second episode, his quest intersects with a secret project led by Mari's father, culminating in the revelation that the Salamander treasure is fundamentally different from his expectations. Throughout both episodes, he remains accompanied by Rane and occasionally by Leen, another fairy originally sent to eliminate Rane. The story concludes without resolving many plot elements, including Leen's motives or the treasure's true nature.
