Description
Kōzaburō Kuki is a former communist terrorist trained by the KGB. His violent past includes orchestrating a drone crash into Tokyo's financial district, an operation designed to cause mass civilian casualties and destabilize capitalist economies, marking him as a morally compromised figure skilled in combat and espionage.
Now operating as a freelance criminal and master terrorist in France, Kuki navigates the Parisian underworld, maintaining contacts among sex workers for information and companionship. The murder of one such contact, Marie-Anne, is exploited by French intelligence to frame and blackmail him. Despite his profession, Kuki adheres to a personal code, distributing money to sex workers and reacting violently to attacks against them.
Coerced into service by French Secret Service chief Monsieur Lassar using the murder frame-up, Kuki's mission is to investigate CIA activities in Paris connected to a NASA base attack in Arizona and a dead CIA agent found in the Seine. This assignment brings him into contact with film star Lamia Vindaw, whose unique blood makes her a target for the CIA, French intelligence, and a vampire cult. Kuki's role shifts from coerced asset to protector when he learns Lamia's blood is key to awakening Veriswaldi, an ancient alien vampire leader. This revelation prompts him to prioritize Lamia's safety against converging factions over self-preservation.
