Description
Shunsuke Sengoku stands 183 cm tall with black hair and brown eyes. His personality is anti-social, anti-authority, foul-tempered, and foul-mouthed. He exhibits open hostility toward police chief Juzo Hasegawa and frequent irritation toward his robotic handler Varsus, who monitors his activities. Sengoku routinely violates regulations by drinking on duty and arriving late to assignments.

Originally from Old Tokyo (Ward EF506), he spent seven years traveling globally as a bounty hunter targeting cyber criminals before returning to Oedo. Sengoku was convicted of numerous crimes including murder, assault, unlawful possession of cyber weapons, traffic violations, disturbing the peace, endangering public welfare, forgery, world computer fraud, breaking database law, and resisting arrest. His destruction of the National Safety Forces resulted in a 375-year prison sentence with a 0.005% parole possibility, initially served in a high-earth orbit prison.

Now serving a suspended sentence, Sengoku works for the Cyber Police as a mobile detective. He is compelled to wear an explosive collar detonated for mission failure or tampering. His primary motivation is sentence reduction, not justice. He favors a high-velocity .44 Magnum revolver equipped with a fingerprint trigger-lock ensuring exclusive use. Despite being a convicted mass murderer with violent tendencies, he displays reluctance toward killing as a first resort unless necessary.

His current mission involves rescuing 50,000 civilians trapped in Oedo's largest skyscraper during a central computer takeover, where he pursues suspects including a supposedly deceased individual. On assignments, he wears a distinctive red trench coat. A relationship exists with Kyoko Jonouchi, Hasegawa's secretary, who expresses romantic interest in him despite his criminal status; Sengoku maintains hesitation due to their opposing legal positions.

Sengoku's background includes a familial connection: his father was the founder of the Cyber Police Security Forces and a colleague of Hasegawa. Both Sengoku's father and Hasegawa were killed by Maxe, who sought the Security Forces Captain position.
