OVA
Description
Remi Masuda, born over 300 years prior to the depicted events, suffered from a rare hereditary anemia. Her parents opted for cryogenic suspension, placing her in cold sleep in 2504 until a cure could be found. She remained preserved until 2807 when Shūzō Saionji, CEO of the stasis facility's managing company, revived her. Saionji used her as a test subject for his immortality research, injecting her with an early form of a virus he developed.

This experimental virus transformed her into an immortal vampire, granting psychic abilities like telekinesis but forcing her to sustain herself by consuming blood. The transformation and resulting suffering drove her into seeking revenge against Saionji. She hunted down his former employees, genetic engineers involved in the virus's development, resulting in their deaths.

During the Cyber Police investigation into these murders, Merrill "Benten" Yanagawa uncovered her existence and the truth behind her actions. Benten developed sympathy for her plight and intervened to protect her when other officers moved to apprehend her. Determined to confront Saionji directly, she traveled to his orbital medical station via an orbital elevator.

At the station, she attacked the aged Saionji. However, he ingested a perfected version of the virus, rapidly rejuvenating his body and gaining enhanced vampiric abilities, including teleportation and an accelerated healing factor. Saionji overpowered her and fed on her blood. Benten intervened during this confrontation, using an antidote developed from the genetic engineers' research. The antidote caused Saionji to age rapidly and die.

Following Saionji's death, she expressed a desire to end her immortal existence. With the only available antidote used on Saionji and her original terminal illness making a cure undesirable, Benten offered an alternative. She was placed inside a cryogenic capsule and returned to cold-sleep. This capsule was then ejected into space, leaving her to drift perpetually among the stars in a state of suspended animation.

Her story is exclusive to the third episode of the OVA series, titled "Crimson Media" in the original Japanese release and alternatively known as "Blood Lust" or "The Vampire".
