Description
Crusher Joe, born November 8, 2142, on Planet Aramis in the Canis Major Zone, is the son of Crusher Dan, founder of the Crusher Conference, and Yuria, who died shortly after his birth. Demonstrating exceptional skill and leadership, Joe became a Crusher at age ten. By fourteen, he single-handedly rescued his father during the salvage of the "Charley Chan," an act prompting Dan's retirement and Joe's succession as leader, advised by Talos and Gambino. This cemented Joe's command of the Crushers, operating from the newly commissioned ship *Minerva*.

Joe spearheads a specialized Crusher team undertaking dangerous assignments, from transport and terraforming to military operations, maintaining a Triple A elite rating. His personality blends headstrong independence with calm, quick decision-making in crises. He intensely dislikes external authority yet strictly adheres to the Crusher code, refusing unethical or illegal jobs despite the organization's mercenary reputation. This moral compass drives him to complete accepted missions honorably, even when misled.

His team comprises Alfin, a former princess of Planet Pizanne who abdicated her throne during a rescue mission; Talos, a veteran cyborg Crusher who served with Dan and pilots the *Minerva*; Ricky, a young engineer orphaned on Planet Rhodes who stowed away; and Dongo, a sardonic robot. Joe and Alfin share a romantic involvement, adding personal stakes to their partnership.

Key missions illustrate his development. In the novel "Crisis on Solidarity Planet Pizanne," Joe's team rescues Princess Alfin, leading to Gambino's death and her joining the Crushers. During "The Movie" storyline, a routine medical transport job goes awry when space pirates frame Joe's crew during a warp failure. Accused by the United Space Force and facing license suspension, Joe pursues the pirates to the dangerous planet Lagol, exposing a conspiracy and reclaiming their honor. In the OVA "The Ice Prison," hired to adjust an ice asteroid prison's orbit, they uncover a government plot to eliminate political dissidents, navigating corruption while upholding their code. In "The Ultimate Weapon: Ash," secretly hired to destroy a planet-killing bomb, they confront military factions seeking to misuse it, highlighting Joe's role as a neutral party committed to preventing mass destruction.

Throughout, Joe's leadership is defined by loyalty to his team, tactical ingenuity in combat and space operations, and unwavering adherence to the Crusher ethos against external pressures. His background as the founder's son and early experiences shape his approach to balancing independence with responsibility.
