Description
Buburina serves as the primary antagonist and a central figure in the narrative, holding the position of princess and acting as the ruthless ruler of Banipal Witt, a world of anthropomorphic cats. Her character is defined by extreme spoilation and an unwavering belief that everything rightfully belongs to her—traits deeply ingrained from her upbringing.

A pivotal element of her backstory involves a tragic incident from her youth, wherein she inadvertently caused the death of a court magician’s daughter. In retaliation, the grieving magician cursed her, causing any native living being of Banipal Witt that she touches to instantly inflate and transform into a balloon. Only humans from the human world are immune to this magical effect.

Buburina consistently refuses to accept responsibility for her role in the death. Her parents, the former rulers, are depicted as regretful, blaming themselves for having spoiled her and thereby fostering her malevolent disposition.

She employs her curse as an instrument of terror and domination to enforce her rule. Her ambitions include using Papadoll, a giant flying dog monster originally a pet from the human world, as a weapon to subjugate the population. Her grand scheme involves creating a giant mouse balloon to awaken the Sleeping Cat—a colossal feline whose arousal would destroy Banipal Witt—intending to use this threat to control potential rebels.

Buburina maintains a manipulative relationship with DohDoh, the former apprentice of the court magician Sandada. She exploits his love for her, taunting and teasing him while fully aware he cannot touch her without falling victim to her curse. His devotion is further ensured through a cursed portrait that causes anyone who looks upon it to become insanely devoted to her.

She possesses an extreme aversion to water, a weakness that proves significant during the story’s climax when her own actions lead her to sink into a small lake.

Following her defeat, Buburina is left sinking into the water while her accomplice DohDoh becomes tangled in the remnants of the destroyed giant mouse balloon. The narrative concludes with a suggestion that her defeat may not be permanent.
