Dr. Higuchi created the androbot prototype Atsuko Higuchi, later known as Nuku Nuku. He was a colleague and friend of Professor Kyusaku Natsume, though Kyusaku did not originally build Nuku Nuku in this adaptation. After developing the prototype, the Mishima Corporation detained Dr. Higuchi. This imprisonment led to Nuku Nuku's escape and subsequent memory loss. Corporate spies from the German competitor Zweig eventually freed Dr. Higuchi during his confinement and took him to Germany.

Associates, including the Natsume family, believed Dr. Higuchi dead until his unexpected return later in the series. His reappearance coincided with a critical confrontation involving Mishima's young president, who unveiled Nuku Nuku's unnamed twin androbot designed to eradicate all life. Dr. Higuchi had actually created Nuku Nuku as a failsafe countermeasure against this destructive twin. Both androbots' designs were based on the physical form of a woman Dr. Higuchi deeply loved, serving as the emotional foundation for their development.

Upon returning to Japan, Dr. Higuchi sought to reclaim Nuku Nuku with the intention of taking her to Germany. This action directly conflicted with the bonds she had formed with the Natsume family, particularly with Ryunosuke Natsume, who had developed strong feelings for her. Dr. Higuchi's involvement culminated during the climax where Nuku Nuku confronted her twin, fulfilling her purpose as the protective countermeasure he designed.
