Description
Quild, also rendered as Kwairde in some English versions, is a supporting character in Legend of Crystania: The Motion Picture, set within the Crystania saga that follows the adventures of the young prince Redon. He is a native of the realm of Da'nan, where he originally served as a spy for Redon's father, Lord Haven. When civil war broke out in their homeland and Lord Haven was murdered, Redon was forced to flee with a small band of loyal companions; Quild chose to follow him rather than remain behind, and he was among those who crossed the great barrier known as the God's Wall into the sacred and dangerous land of Crystania.

Quild's motivation is rooted firmly in loyalty. His service first belonged to Lord Haven, and after his master's death, he transferred that allegiance to Haven's son, committing himself to watching over the young prince in exile. His background as a spy suggests a watchful, discreet, and observant nature, and among Redon's companions he is a practical, dependable presence rather than a leader or an outspoken figure. In the character materials connected to the setting, Quild is described as an adult human man in his late twenties, trained primarily as a scout and additionally skilled as a fighter, which suits his role of gathering information, navigating unfamiliar terrain, and protecting Redon during the group's journey through Crystania. His key relationships are therefore defined by service: Lord Haven, the master he once served in secret, and Redon, the prince whose cause he adopts as his own after the fall of their homeland. He also stands alongside the other members of Redon's party as one of the few who was present from the very beginning, before the dangers of Crystania were even known to them. His development over the course of the story is understated; rather than undergoing a dramatic transformation, he reaffirms his loyalty to Redon as their situation grows increasingly perilous, making him a quiet but steady anchor for the group in a foreign and hostile world.
